At his funeral the Pastor said, “Mr. C.E. Pullen was one of the most unique men I’ve ever known.”  Most people who knew him would agree. Many recognized him by his eye patch, some knew for his mastery of the banjo, and still others for his ability to build almost anything he imagined. I knew him as “Dad.”  

 

My father packed 98 years full of experiences from his career as a musician and as a model maker and was rich in countless friendships. He enjoyed telling stories of his life and often told others, “I’m writing a book.” He penned a few pages, but most of From Hell’s Half Acre to The Moon emerged from countless hours of our recorded conversations. I’ve worked with dozens of authors to help them publish their books, but none is more personal to me. This is our joint effort to tell his story.  

 

From Hell’s Half Acre to The Moon, chronicles his life. After a terrible accident changed his life and stopped his education as a young high schooler; he rose to become one of the most respected model makers of prototypes for NASA and MIT projects. His musical talents allowed him to perform with Grand Old Opry legends. May I introduce you to my dad? I think you might agree he was unlike anyone you’ve ever known.
